Just received word that the collection I'm editing has been offered a publishing contract. I am super excited about this news, since, among other things, it means that I'll definitely meet the minimum requirements for tenure, and that I can look toward longer-term projects.
It also means that I've got a lot of work to do in a short period of time, a period that also includes an office move and a search committee. Light blogging ahead? We'll see, but for now, I'll pop a cork for this one significant step.

Go, you!
Congratulations! Fantastic news! Hurrah!
Excellent news! Having just finished editing a book -- a collection of chapters written by very well-known folks -- I wish you great success in your herding of the cats.
Congrats!
Congrats, Horace!
Congrats! Keep on going!
(Ooh, if you have time, you can tell us what that whole process is like --- some of my friends have tried to edit collections and it sounds like lots of juggling.)
(And the move --- what's the story with the office move, too? Will there be decorating?)
Great news -- congrats!
Congratulations!
Yay! Congratulations!
And btw, I just want to commend you on your very Gen-X reference to the least famous of the Children's Television Workshop shows. I *loved* 3-2-1 Contact -- I even got the magazine!
THanks, all! Sisyphus, that's two upcoming posts you've asked me to write...Next time I need a blogging topic, I'll just write to you to ask.
And Dr. V, we are clearly of a generation: I also both watch the show and subscribed to the magazine. In fact at different points, I got all three magazines, and am sad to see that of the CTW lineup, only Sesame Street has survived: even Electric Company disappeared!
